No. This bar mounts at factory points behind the bumper cover. Remove the cover, bolt the bar to the frame rails, then reinstall. Bumper cover stays on the vehicle during the swap.
Will this fit if my bumper has sensor holes or cutouts?
This is the reinforcement bar only — it sits behind the bumper cover and does not interact with sensor placement or cutouts in the cover itself. Sensor compatibility depends on your bumper cover, not this bar.
Can I prime and paint this before installation?
You can. Since it bolts to the frame and stays hidden, priming it beforehand gives you cleaner welds and coverage. Just mask off the bolt holes to keep fastening surfaces clear.
