Will the chrome finish scratch during install?
Chrome bars ship with a protective coating. Peel it off before final install. Minor scuffs at mounting points are normal and won't spread once exposed areas dry. Deep gouges should be masked and touched up with chrome repair paint.
What if the bars don't sit flush against my rocker panel?
Measure the gap. Shims (rubber or steel) fit between the bar bracket and mounting point to close gaps up to ¼ inch. Check fitment before final torque—some trucks sit slightly different from the factory baseline.
