Does this need to be painted or prepped before installation?

No prep needed. The chrome coating arrives ready to install straight out of the box. If you ever need to refresh the shine, standard chrome polish works fine.

Will this fit without removing my bumper cover?

Yes. This trim clips into factory points on the grille surround itself. Bumper removal is not required — you can access and install it from the front without dropping anything.

What if the clips don't hold tight after installation?

Test the clips first by hand before driving. If they feel loose, light adhesive tape applied behind the molding or a small cable tie at the top clip point can lock it in place permanently. Clips are designed to stay seated once properly seated.
