Will this hitch need paint or undercoating?
The steel assembly ships bare — you'll want to prime and paint or apply a rust preventative before or shortly after installation to protect against corrosion, especially in salt-heavy climates.
Do I need a receiver lock or anti-rattle device?
Not included with this hitch. A locking pin and anti-rattle insert are commonly sold separately and highly recommended if you'll be leaving a carrier or bike rack on the receiver.
Is professional installation required?
Mounting uses factory points, so a skilled DIYer with basic hand tools can handle it, but a shop install takes the guesswork out of torque specs and frame fit. Check your service manual for fastener torque values before you tighten.
