Do I need a ball mount and safety chains, or does this hitch come with them?
The hitch assembly only includes the receiver. You'll need to buy a 2" ball mount, hitch pin, safety chains, and wiring harness separately based on your trailer's coupler and electrical needs.
Can I install this myself with basic hand tools?
Yes. It bolts to factory frame points using standard fasteners. Have a jack and jack stands handy to access the frame safely. Installation typically takes 1–2 hours if you're comfortable working under the vehicle.
Does this hitch need to be painted before installation?
The hitch ships with a powder-coat finish ready to install. Paint it only if you prefer a different color or want to match your truck's bumper. Otherwise, it's good to bolt on as-is.
