condor-chassis-mount-race-shifter
Condor Chassis-Mount Race Shifter

Get the precision and direct feel of a chassis-mounted race shifter without the harsh, notchy action common to many solid-mounted designs.

The Condor Chassis-Mount Race Shifter eliminates the factory shifter carrier and mounts directly to the transmission tunnel. Removing the flex and movement of the factory carrier creates a more rigid connection to the transmission, resulting in more precise shifts and better feedback through the lever.

The taller lever positions the shift knob closer to the steering wheel, reducing the distance your hand has to travel between steering and shifting. Combined with the shorter throw, this allows quicker shifts with less hand movement—especially useful on track when you're shifting under braking or between corners.

Unlike many chassis-mounted shifters, ours uses an OEM-style plastic pivot ball and replaceable BMW shifter cup. The plastic interface helps absorb some of the abruptness of a solid-mounted mechanism, giving the shifter a smoother, less notchy feel without sacrificing the precision of a chassis-mounted design. Because the cup is a replaceable BMW component, the primary wear point can also be easily serviced rather than replacing the entire shifter.

A 3-position adjustable pivot point changes the leverage and shift throw, allowing you to choose how short and direct you want the shift action. This lets you tune the shifter to your transmission and personal preference rather than being locked into a single throw.

The complete shifter assembly weighs just 1 lb 9 oz, providing a rigid chassis-mounted mechanism without unnecessary weight. An integrated rubber boot seals the transmission tunnel to help keep heat, fumes, and debris out of the cabin, while captured mounting hardware makes installation easier.

The shifter works with the factory BMW selector rod or our DSSR – Dual Shear Selector Rod, which further reduces play in the shift linkage for an even more direct connection between the shifter and transmission.

Each shifter includes your choice of five Condor shift knob options, along with a selection of 5-speed and 6-speed shifter cap designs. Choose the knob and cap combination that best fits your car and setup.

Because a chassis-mounted shifter is fixed to the body while the transmission can still move on its mounts, worn or soft transmission mounts can affect shift consistency. Pair the shifter with the appropriate <span
